Prerequisite(s): (FREN 3050 or equivalent knowledge) and University Advanced Standing. Introduces representative authors and texts of the French literary tradition from the Middle Ages to 1700. Emphasizes literary analysis and criticism. Builds knowledge of literary history, develops skills in interpreting literary texts, and deepens understanding of the French language. Conducts all class activities, instruction, and presentations entirely in French.
