Teaches students a deeper knowledge of cultures through their dance forms by participation in movement classes, informal performances, and dance-related cultural events in class, on campus, and in the community. Serves to deepen the student's understanding of the profound relationship between dance and culture, and dance and human existence throughout time through readings, group discussions, interactive assignments, cultural research projects, concert attendance, writing, dancing, singing and playing music.
